Lotus Quickr Connector: 64-bit Support

I can’t believe it, a new Lotus Quickr Connector version is available which fully supports 64 bit versions of Windows.

Lotus Quickr Connector HF7 key features:

  • Windows 7 64-bit support, including Windows 64-bit Explorer Connector
  • Microsoft Office 2010 64-bit Connectors
  • Microsoft Outlook 2010 64-bit Connector
  • Fixed problema in HF6 where MS Word can crash opening Quickr-D attachments directly through the Office Connector

Quickr Connector 8.5: Is there any reason…

…why IBM changed the Quickr Connector icon in version 8.5?


Well ok, it’s only a little thing and it’s not that bad, but I really liked IBM’s strategy to standardize Lotus product icons.

I wonder why IBM started to have similar icons for Notes, Sametime, Connections and Quickr and now they break their own concept.

…I can already hear the users claiming that they cannot find their Quickr connector anymore :-(

I want the bubble back!!! ;-)

Using Quickr Connector as Local User

Users which are not listed in one of the directories used by the Quickr server, but listed as a local member in a place, are not able to access the Quickr server using the Quickr Connector – this is what IBM says.

But there is a not officially supported workaround to allow local place users to share their data using the Connector.
