A few days ago I stumbled across the IBM Technote “How can I recreate the workspace and clear the cache in Lotus Notes 8 Standard Configuration?“.

It says that you can start your Lotus Notes 8 Standard client with a special parameter to either recreate your workspace (notes.exe -RPARAMS -resetconfig) or to clear your cache (notes.exe -RPARAMS -clean).
